Sculptra in Boca Raton, FL

A collagen stimulator that works gradually over a series of sessions, rebuilding facial support rather than filling a single area.

Sculptra is a collagen stimulator, not a filler. Instead of adding volume in one visit, it prompts your own skin to build collagen over the months after treatment, which rebuilds facial support gradually. We offer it at our Boca Raton med spa as a series, usually spaced several weeks apart. Book a consultation to find out whether your face suits it, or compare it with dermal filler.

How it differs from filler

A hyaluronic acid filler is the volume. You see the result the day it is placed. Sculptra is poly-L-lactic acid, and the product itself is absorbed. What remains is the collagen your body lays down in response to it. That means the change appears slowly, over weeks and months, and nobody around you sees a before and after moment. For people who want a gradual result rather than a visible step change, that is the appeal.

It works in series

One session is not a treatment. Sculptra is dosed across a course of sessions spaced several weeks apart, and the number depends on how much support has been lost. Your provider will map out the series at consultation. If you want a result before a specific date, count backwards generously, because the timeline here is measured in months rather than days.

Best for broad, diffuse loss

Sculptra suits faces that have lost support widely: flattened cheeks, hollow temples, a general sense of deflation rather than one specific crease. It is not the tool for a single fold or for lips. If you are looking to improve one area, a targeted filler is usually the better answer and we will say so.

What to expect

The product is reconstituted before treatment and injected across the treatment areas. You will look slightly fuller immediately, which is the fluid it is mixed in rather than the result; that settles within a few days and you return to your starting point before the real change begins. Massage of the treated areas afterward is part of the protocol and your provider will show you exactly how and how often. Bruising and small lumps that resolve are possible.

Aftercare

  • Massage the treated areas exactly as instructed, for as many days as instructed.
  • Expect to look the same again within days before the gradual change starts.
  • Ice for swelling on the day of treatment.
  • Keep your series appointments; the result depends on completing them.
  • Report any firm lump that does not settle so it can be assessed.
Have a question?

Sculptra questions people actually ask

How soon will I see results from Sculptra?

Not quickly, and that is by design. The product stimulates collagen, and collagen takes time to build. Most people notice change over the course of the treatment series rather than after any single session.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on how much facial support has been lost. Your provider will map the series at consultation rather than quoting a standard number, because the right answer for a face in its late thirties is different from one in its sixties.

Is Sculptra permanent?

No. It is longer lasting than hyaluronic acid filler because what you are seeing is your own collagen, but collagen turns over and the effect fades. Maintenance sessions keep it going.

Can Sculptra be dissolved?

No. Unlike hyaluronic acid filler there is no enzyme that reverses it. That is a real difference and a reason to be conservative with dosing and to choose your injector carefully.

Sculptra or filler?

Filler if you want a specific area corrected and you want to see it now. Sculptra if the loss is broad and you would rather the change arrive quietly. Plenty of treatment plans use both, for different parts of the face.
