Chemical Peels in Boca Raton, FL

Controlled exfoliation that lifts pigmentation, softens fine lines, and clears congestion, with peel depth matched to your skin.

A chemical peel uses a controlled acid solution to lift the outer layers of skin so smoother, more even skin replaces them. We perform peels at our Boca Raton med spa and choose the acid and the depth after assessing your skin, because the same peel on two different skin types produces two very different outcomes. Book a consultation or read about all skin and facial treatments.

Depth is the whole decision

Peels run from superficial to deep. A superficial peel works on the outermost layer, gives you a few days of light flaking, and is the one people repeat in a series. Deeper peels reach further, do more for texture and pigmentation, and ask for real recovery time in exchange. Neither is better. The right depth depends on what you are treating, your skin type, and how many days you can realistically look like you have had something done.

The acid matters as much as the strength

Glycolic and lactic acids are water-loving and work on surface tone and dryness. Salicylic acid is oil-loving, so it gets into pores and suits congestion and breakouts. TCA reaches deeper for texture and pigment. Blended formulas combine them. Your provider picks based on your skin rather than on what is booked most often.

Pigmentation needs care in darker skin tones

Any treatment that inflames the skin can trigger post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and the risk is higher in deeper skin tones. That does not rule peels out; it changes the choice of acid, the strength, the pre-treatment plan and how carefully sun is managed afterward. If you have ever pigmented after a scratch, a spot or a burn, tell your provider at consultation, because it changes the plan.

Sun exposure is the aftercare that matters most here

Freshly peeled skin has lost its outer protection and burns easily. In South Florida the UV index stays meaningful across the whole year, so there is no season where you can skip this. Daily broad-spectrum sunscreen, a hat, and no deliberate sun for a week are not optional extras; they are what stops a peel that was meant to even your tone from causing new pigment.

What suits you is decided at consultation, from your skin and your history. Consultations are complimentary.

What to expect

Skin is cleansed and prepped, then the solution is applied and timed. Most people feel warmth or tingling that builds and then eases; deeper peels feel stronger and are neutralized or self-neutralizing depending on the formula. Afterward the skin looks tight and pink. Flaking usually starts on day two or three and runs for a few days. How much you peel is not a measure of how well it worked.

Aftercare

  • Do not pick or pull flaking skin; let it shed on its own.
  • Broad-spectrum sunscreen every day, reapplied, plus a hat.
  • No retinoids, acids or scrubs until your provider clears you.
  • Skip pools, saunas, steam and hot yoga while peeling.
  • Tell your provider straight away about blistering, spreading redness or unusual pain.
Have a question?

Chemical Peels questions people actually ask

How much will I peel?

It varies with the depth and with your skin, and it is not a measure of results. Some superficial peels barely flake and still improve tone. Your provider will tell you what to expect for the peel you are having.

How many peels do I need?

Superficial peels are usually done in a series, spaced a few weeks apart, because the effect compounds. A single deeper peel can do more in one visit but asks for downtime. Your plan is set after the skin assessment.

Can I have a peel if I use tretinoin?

Often yes, but you will usually be asked to stop for several days beforehand. Always tell your provider about prescription skincare, because it changes how your skin responds.

Are peels safe for darker skin tones?

Yes, with the right acid, the right strength and careful sun management afterward. The risk to plan around is post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, which is why the assessment and the pre-treatment plan matter more than the peel itself.

When can I go back in the sun?

Not deliberately for at least a week, and with daily sunscreen well beyond that. Peeled skin has lost its outer barrier, and sun exposure at that point is the fastest way to undo the result.
