Hair Loss & Thinning Treatment in Boca Raton, FL

Scalp health and hair density support for thinning and shedding.

Hair and scalp treatments here start with working out why the hair is thinning, because shedding from a thyroid problem, iron deficiency, a recent illness or pattern hair loss are four different conditions with four different answers. Our medical team assesses first at our Boca Raton med spa, then recommends a treatment plan. Book a consultation to have the cause assessed.

The diagnosis comes before the treatment

Thinning hair has many causes and they do not respond to the same thing. Sudden diffuse shedding a few months after an illness, a surgery, childbirth or major stress often resolves on its own. Thinning driven by thyroid disease or low iron improves when the underlying issue is treated. Pattern hair loss is progressive and needs ongoing management. Treating all of these identically is why so many people spend a year on something that was never going to work.

Timing matters more than in most treatments

Follicles that have been dormant for years are far harder to restart than follicles that are still producing thin hair. Every month of waiting narrows what is achievable. If you have noticed a widening part, more scalp showing under bright light, or more hair than usual in the shower, that is the point to have it looked at rather than the point to start reading forums.

The scalp is skin

Persistent flaking, itching, redness or soreness is a scalp condition, and hair growing out of inflamed skin does not do well. Sometimes treating the scalp is most of the answer. Our aestheticians and medical team can tell the difference between a scalp problem and a hair problem, which is the sort of thing that gets missed when hair is treated as purely cosmetic.

What we will tell you honestly

Some hair loss is beyond what non-surgical treatment can address, and in that case a referral is the right answer rather than a package. We would rather tell you that at the first appointment.

What suits you is decided at consultation, from your skin and your history. Consultations are complimentary.

What to expect

The consultation covers when the thinning started and how quickly, your family history, recent illness, surgery, pregnancy or major stress, your medications, and your diet. Your scalp and hair are examined directly. Lab work may be ordered where a systemic cause is suspected. You leave with an explanation of what is most likely happening and a plan matched to it, which may include a referral.

Aftercare

  • Follow the plan consistently; hair treatments are measured in months.
  • Take photographs at the start so progress can be judged against something.
  • Complete any lab work that is ordered.
  • Treat the scalp gently and use what your provider recommends.
  • Report new symptoms, particularly sudden or patchy loss.
Have a question?

Hair & Scalp Treatments questions people actually ask

Why do I need an assessment before treatment?

Because thinning hair has several possible causes and they need different treatments. Thyroid problems, iron deficiency, recovery from illness and pattern hair loss all look similar in the mirror and respond to entirely different things.

How quickly will I see a difference?

Months, not weeks, because hair grows on a slow cycle. Photographs at the start are the only reliable way to judge progress later.

Can anything be done about a receding hairline?

It depends on how long the follicles have been dormant. Early intervention gives you more options than late intervention, which is why an assessment sooner is worth more than research.

Is thinning after pregnancy or illness permanent?

Usually not. Diffuse shedding that follows childbirth, surgery, illness or major stress commonly resolves on its own. That is exactly the kind of distinction the assessment is for.

What if my scalp is flaky or itchy?

Mention it. Persistent flaking, itching, redness or soreness is a scalp condition, and hair does not grow well out of inflamed skin. Sometimes treating the scalp is most of the treatment.
